Brown County Leading the Way in Harm Reduction Efforts in Rural Ohio

The Brown County Board of Mental Health & Addiction Services and the Brown County Health Department recently installed a harm reduction supply dispensing machine in Georgetown, OH. The machine is located outside of the Board’s office located at 85 Banting Drive Georgetown, OH. The machine dispenses the overdose reversal drug naloxone and other harm reduction items. Interested individuals may register anonymously to use the machine by calling 513-399-7413, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.

The project is a collaborative effort between Interact for Health who provided $20,000 of funding, The Regional Harm Reduction Collaborative, The Brown County Board of MHAS & The Brown County Health Department. This is only the second machine of its kind in Ohio and the first in a rural community. The machine helps broaden the reach of Harm Reduction efforts in the county making harm reduction items available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
