Future Plans joined nearly 80 organizations at the Ross County Employment Expo on September 25, offering hands-on support to job seekers following the August 10 closure of the Pixelle Specialty Solutions paper mill, which resulted in the loss of more than 700 jobs. Held at the Shoemaker Center in Chillicothe, the Expo connected residents to employers, training opportunities, and workforce resources during a time of significant transition.
Future Plans’ presence at the event reflects our mission to help individuals navigate career change, discover new pathways, and access the tools needed to rebuild after disruption. Events like this highlight the importance of GRIT’s work — mobilizing quickly, partnering deeply, and ensuring that impacted families have the resources they need to move forward.
