Elementary Exposure & Business Collaboration – May 9th Career Fair
It’s never too early to spark curiosity and encourage discovery, and on May 9th, we did just that! The district-wide 6th Grade Career Fair was a huge success, bringing together over 30 businesses and more than 250 students for a hands-on day of exploration and learning. From AI demonstrations to road construction equipment, students were given a front-row seat to careers they may have never imagined.
Students rotated through engaging stations hosted by local businesses, organizations, and Career and Technical Center (CTC) programs. Activities ranged from cake decorating to auto mechanics, all designed to open young minds to a world of opportunity. Each student received a worksheet to guide their journey, filling in boxes as they asked questions and connected what they learned with real career paths. At the GRIT table, students planted seeds to help them start cultivating, growing, and seeing a great future.
Our State Representative, Justin Pizzulli, even made a surprise visit and was thoroughly impressed with the intentional efforts being made to invest in students’ futures at such a pivotal age. The event was not only educational, but it was also energizing, fun, and filled with promise. A highlight was the ability to recognize the number of businesses, organizations, and individuals who were there supporting students from the same school district where they once were a 6th grader. A moment of full-circle gratitude.
